10:00 AM  –  11:30 AM

Come learn about Descanso’s newest collection: the cycads in the ancient forest during their most active time of year. Cycads were one of the first seed bearing plants and predate all the flowering plants that dominate our world today.

Students will learn how these ancient plants evolved through history and gain an appreciation for the diversity we see today.

Students are encouraged to bring pens and sketching paper. Class includes use of microscopes and other botany lab style materials. Class takes place indoors and outdoors.
