Papermaking Workshop

 

In this hands-on workshop, led by artist Leslie K. Gray, you will learn the exciting and ancient technique of paper-making. You will understand the basics of the making process and use a mix of recycled materials and nature’s tidbits to make beautiful, unique and functional sheets of your own paper.

All materials are provided, including a paper making frame set to take home.

 

All Ages are welcome. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a wet workshop, so please be prepared for splashes!


About the artist:  Leslie K. Gray is a visual artist and theatre designer/director. She created the popular Winged Reflections installation of brilliantly colored acrylic butterflies for Descanso's Rose Garden in 2021 and has performed her puppetry productions at Descanso in 2019 and 2020. Her puppetry theatre work has been seen at the Skirball Cultural Center, The Getty, Highways Performance Space as well as internationally. She teaches arts workshops for many organizations in Los Angeles such as the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, as well as teaching and collaborating on projects abroad. She is also a credentialed Special Education teacher working with Deaf students.
