Saturday October 5

Other dates...

9:00 AM  –  10:30 AM

This workshop begins with an informative discussion and continues with a guided bird walk where we will explore the various bird habitats of Descanso Gardens. See how bird life changes in each habitat and how birds have evolved to take advantage of their surroundings. From oak woodlands, flower gardens, chaparral shrubland, and wetlands, each area is unique in what it provides and the bird species it hosts. Come explore and learn!

About the Instructor: Omar Alui is a birder and naturalist originally from New York. He has always loved nature and the outdoors, but found that moving to California really opened his eyes to the abundance of habitat and wildlife that surrounds us. His love for birds started on a visit home to NY when a good friend showed him a Yellow Warbler, and he has been hooked ever since. He always loved Pokemon as a kid and feels that birding feels just like that, but in real life and better. He is eager to share the wonders of birds with others, and is always hoping to open some eyes to the beautiful natural world we are a part of.

This is an indoor/outdoor class, please dress appropriately.
