Ikebana is a Japanese flower arranging art form that prioritizes simplicity, elegance, and a respect for nature. Instructor Kaz Yokou Kitajima highlights the freedom of individual expression, believing ikebana can be made anytime, anywhere, by anyone, with any materials.

About the Instructor: Kaz Yokou Kitajima is Ikkyu Shihan Riji of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. His dynamic arrangements use elements of bamboo, pine and wood materials as well as delicate flowers. He is proprietor of the NK Nursery and teaches at both the San Gabriel Japanese Community Center and the Pasadena Japanese Cultural Institute.
